A classmate of the accused said on Thursday that the teacher who was allegedly killed by him had asked him to stay back after school hours on that very day. Philip Chism, 14 years old, has been charged with murdering his math teacher, Colleen Ritzer on Wednesday at the Danvers High School.
Students at the school are now meeting with grief counselors who are helping them to come to terms with the loss of their beloved math teacher.
Why Ritzer asked Chism to stay back
Rania Rhaddaoui who sat just two seats away from Chism said that on the ill fated day, instead of writing down math notes, the boy was just drawing in his notebook and was caught by Ritzer. However, Rhaddaoui added that while she knew that Ritzer had asked Chism to stay back, she was not sure why.
Ritzer’s body was found by the police dumped in the woods behind the school premises. The school remained closed on Thursday.
