Too Much Color Is Not Good
You may have a logo that is predominantly red, and that’s not a problem when it shows a simple but striking message. Follow the Hue
You want to improve brand recall, so make sure your logo and your website are using the same hue. You want a specific color to be associated with your brand, and if you use different and disjoint colors, you’re confusing your customers.
Mind the Color Combination
You may only be using red as an accent, but what color is it accenting? If you have it against a yellow background–because your logo has a red and yellow striped design–you will hurt the eyes of your site visitors. Whatever good information you were planning to provide has already been trumped by the terrible design.
Your logo can get away with a combination of colors that will not have the same striking effect when you use them on your website. Make sure both of them look good and still remind customers of your brand.
